Consultant Psychiatrist in General Adult Psychiatry - PCMHT N4 Team

South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust (SLAM) are looking for a dynamic, enthusiastic Consultant Psychiatrist to join our Primary mental health care teams in Neighbourhood N4 within the London Borough of Lewisham. This is being advertised as a fixed term post.

If you are looking for an exciting clinical role, within established primary care mental health teams, with opportunities to work closely with Primary care partners and lead on further service development and incorporating quality improvement methodology to evaluate changes, then this is the ideal post for you.

Number of programmed activities: 6 (4.5 DCC and 1.5 SPA)

The posts have become available as the two substantive consultants used to provide input into the team though have both reduced their hours.

To provide enthusiastic, and flexible, joint clinical leadership and consultant input into the team, alongside the Clinical Service Lead.

• To provide consultant input into the Primary Care Mental Health Team, using your expertise to provide advice, liaising closely with GPs and other stakeholders, and providing assessment of complex presentations and creating appropriate management plans
• To offer expert risk assessment and management skills of patients newly referred to services
• To ensure excellence in the delivery of evidence‑based treatments
• To act as a source of support, advice and information to current or prospective patients and their carers, referrers, team members and other professionals.
