Senior Clinical Fellow – Paediatric Emergency Medicine – Fixed Term Contract (6–12 months)
Job SummaryWe are delighted to invite applications for a senior clinical fellow position in Paediatric Emergency Medicine at The Royal London. This 6‑12 month fixed‑term post will commence in August/September 2026 or February/March 2027, with options for full‑time or less‑than‑full‑time work.
Our clinical fellow posts provide experience in paediatric emergency medicine at a major trauma centre. Fellows will have 20% of their job plan dedicated to a special programme activity, chosen from online learning, medical education, trauma, research or Your Stance.
Fellows will perform registrar‑level duties on a full‑shift rota in the paediatric emergency department. The department receives 180,000 patient attendances yearly (40,000 paediatric).
The post includes 40 days per 12 months to pursue the special programme activity.

Essential Qualifications
- MBBS or equivalent degree
- Full GMC registration
- Up‑to‑date APLS certificate
Desirable Qualifications
- MCEM, MRCPCH or equivalent
- Other postgraduate degree
Essential Experience
- 5 years of post‑graduate clinical experience (including F1/F2)
- 12 months of paediatric or emergency medicine experience at middle‑grade (Registrar) level
Desirable Experience
- 6 months of paediatric emergency experience
Essential Knowledge
- Lifelong learning ethos and desire for continual improvement
Desirable Knowledge
- Experience designing educational programmes
- Experience teaching diverse audiences
- Participation in clinical governance, quality improvement or research activity
