Consultant in Breast Surgery (10PA Post) at Whipps Cross Hospital, part of Barts Health NHS Trust. Primary base at Whipps Cross Hospital, with requirement to attend other Trust hospitals where appropriate for work or training. Supporting flexible working patterns where possible.

Job location: Whipps Cross Hospital, Whipps Cross Road, London, E11 1NR
- Provide surgical care for breast cancer patients, including oncoplastic and reconstructive procedures.
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, collaborate with doctors, nurses and support staff.
- Develop and implement new models of care and services at the Breast Department.
- Attend other Trust hospitals for work or training as required.
- Contribute to the development of the dedicated breast cancer centre of excellence at St Bartholomew's Hospital.
- MBBS or equivalent, full registration with the GMC with a Licence to Practice and on the Specialist Register for General/Plastic Surgery.
- CCT or equivalent certification within 6 months of interview.
- Training and experience in Breast Surgery, including oncoplastic and reconstructive surgery.
- Experience in cancer management and in working effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Evidence of leadership and teaching/clinical supervision.
- Good oral and written communication skills; ability to work across sites and present effectively to an audience.
- Higher medical or surgical degree.
- Research undertaken in a relevant field.
- Management experience and appropriate training.
- Understanding of the clinical governance agenda.
