SEND Teaching Assistant (PMLD/Complex Needs Class) – Primary SEND School

Pay Rate: £90 – £110 per day

We are currently recruiting a SEND Teaching Assistant to work in a specialist SEND primary school based in Islington.

This role is within a Key Stage 1 class supporting 8 pupils with complex physical disabilities and medical needs. All pupils are wheelchair users and require full adult support with daily routines, learning activities, and personal care throughout the school day.

Key Responsibilities:

Supporting pupils with complex physical disabilities (PD) and medical needs
Assisting with manual handling, including transferring pupils and supporting safe positioning
Supporting pupils on and off the floor and into a variety of specialist equipment
Providing support with personal care and daily routines
Working closely with teachers, therapists, and support staff to meet individual care and learning needs

Essential Requirements:

Previous experience supporting children with complex physical disabilities
Manual handling experience and confidence supporting physical care needs
Physically agile and resilient, able to manage a role with high levels of movement
A calm, caring, and proactive approach
Experience working in a SEND or specialist school setting

This is a full-time role, working Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 3:45pm, offering an excellent opportunity for an experienced SEND TA looking to work in a highly supportive specialist environment.
