This role is perfect for someone who is passionate about supporting early learners and confident in delivering both general classroom support and targeted intervention work.

About the Role

As the Year 1 Teaching Assistant, you will play a key part in delivering high-quality learning experiences while supporting children’s reading, writing, and social development. A strong understanding of the Read Write Inc. phonics programme is essential, as you will help lead small-group and 1:1 interventions to ensure rapid progress.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Supporting Year 1 pupils through focused interventions and class-based learning

• Confidently leading Read Write Inc. phonics sessions

• Working closely with the class teacher to create an engaging learning environment

• Encouraging independence and positive behaviour

• Providing support for pupils with diverse learning needs

• Collaborating with a team of committed, caring professionals
