Smart Teachers is working in partnership with a dynamic and inclusive secondary school in East London to recruit an enthusiastic and knowledgeable History Teacher from January 2026. This is an excellent opportunity to join a supportive humanities department within a school that values academic rigour, curiosity, and high expectations for all students
The Role:
The successful candidate will deliver engaging and high-quality History lessons across KS3 and KS4, with the opportunity to teach KS5 for suitably experienced candidates. You will inspire students to develop a strong understanding of the past, critical thinking skills, and a passion for historical enquiry.
Key responsibilities include:
Planning and delivering well-structured and engaging History lessons
Teaching GCSE History and contributing to A-level provision where appropriate
Assessing, tracking, and supporting student progress effectively
Contributing to curriculum development and enrichment opportunities
Establishing a positive, inclusive, and well-managed classroom environment

About You:
Hold QTS (or be working towards it)
Have experience teaching History at secondary level
Demonstrate strong subject knowledge and enthusiasm for the subject
Be committed to inclusive practice and raising achievement for all learners
Be an ECT or experienced teacher seeking a new opportunity
