About the role – Pastoral Teaching Assistant
I am currently working with this mainstream secondary school who are looking to appoint a pastoral teaching assistant to start with them ASAP. The school are looking for someone who can work with vulnerable students and support them when necessary. The successful candidate will be responsible for the wellbeing of students in Years 7 to 11, where they will be dealing with sensitive situations and managing behaviour accordingly.
The right candidate will join the school on a full-time, long term basis starting as soon as possible.

This oversubscribed, good mainstream secondary school based in the heart of Newham cater to students between the ages 11 and 16 with a SLCN and ASD unit in place to support students with SEN needs. The school have a reputation for looking after staff where a number of schemes in place to support a better work life balance, the school support each member of staff with a lower than average teaching loads where each teacher is treated as a specialist therefore isn’t required to teach cover lessons outside of their subject specialisms.
Each teacher is given efficient time to do their job properly including co-planning sessions throughout the week to make planning and marking more time efficient allowing teacher to focus on other aspects on teaching and learning.
