Special needs teaching assistant; Temporary

Position: Special needs teaching assistant (Temporary)
We are currently seeking an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to support a Year 1 class on a long-term morning placement in Haringey.

This role is ideal for someone who has strong experience working with children with Special Educational Needs, particularly Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) and behavioural challenges, and who is confident working both within the classroom and on a 1:1 basis when required.

The successful candidate will:

Have experience supporting children with SEN, ideally ASC and ADHD

Be confident managing behaviour and setting clear boundaries

Be calm, patient and consistent in their approach

Be able to follow structured routines and support regulation strategies

Communicate effectively with teachers and SEN staff

Be proactive, adaptable and able to think on their feet
