As a Fellow in Medical Education at Maudsley Learning, you will join a multi‑professional team providing a high‑performing and fast‑paced yet supportive environment in which you will be supported to develop professionally while contributing actively to the goals and mission of Maudsley Learning.
You will learn how to design, develop, deliver, market, assess and research around simulation‑based education and other training courses developed by Maudsley Learning and gain an unrivalled educational experience.
This is a fixed‑term 12‑month full‑time post for a Fellow in Medical Education, designed for a Specialty Trainee (years 4‑5) in psychiatry to undertake as an Out‑of‑Programme Experience (OOPE) from their training rotation.
The post holder will contribute to the ongoing development and delivery of mental health simulation‑based education (SBE) and other training courses at Maudsley Learning. The successful post‑holder will ensure high‑quality design, development and delivery of these trainings, help lead the rollout and ongoing assessment of our evolving programme of multidisciplinary courses, and develop innovations to support clinical education and workplace practice.
Mainduties of the job
The post holder will work closely with the Simulation Clinical Lead for Maudsley Learning and Simulation faculty. The main duties of the post holder will be to:
- Design, develop and deliver a series of simulation‑based education and other mental health training programmes and courses in collaboration with a range of stakeholders, including commissioners.
- Evaluate the impact of courses and training programmes delivered, including presentation of results at relevant conferences and submission for publication.
- Contribute to writing bids and reports of completed training projects.
- Contribute to the development of the simulation team, attending relevant meetings and events.

Job responsibilitiesKey Responsibilities:
To oversee and be responsible for the successful roll‑out of training courses and programmes.
