Youth Development, Life Skills Coach/Career Advisor
Would you like to join a charity supporting 18-24-year-olds gain skills to help them in the workplace? You will be working for a national charity who delivers supported internships for young people with autism or a learning disability. The programme provides classroom-based learning (employability and functional skills) combined with a work experience placement and supports the young person throughout the process.
You will have a varied role. Typically, you will be one day a week from home for an admin day, one day classroom-based working as a teaching assistant, and then three days visiting young people in the workplace and working with them to help them understand the role as well as liaising with the employer for feedback and discussing any workplace adjustments.
You will also support young people in the practicalities of getting to and from work. Learners and employers are typically in the Kingston area.
You must have experience of working with young people, ideally with SEND including autism or learning disability experience. This role would suit a teaching assistant looking for a change, a youth worker or possibly an employment advisor or job coach.
