Learning Mentor

Pay: £90 - £100 per day

Academics are currently working in partnership with a SEMH provision in Bexley to recruit a Learning Mentor to support students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
This is a rewarding opportunity for a resilient and empathetic individual who is passionate about helping young people overcome barriers to learning and engagement.
The Role- Providing 1:1 and small group support to students with SEMH needs
- Supporting emotional regulation, behaviour management, and engagement in learning
- Building positive, trusting relationships with students
- Implementing behaviour support and intervention plans
- Supporting students both in and out of the classroom
- Working closely with teachers, pastoral staff, and external professionals
- Experience working with SEMH, challenging behaviour, or vulnerable young people
- Calm, patient, and consistent approach
- Strong behaviour management and de-escalation skills
- Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities
- Background in education, youth work, care, or mentoring is desirable
