Social Sciences Teacher - Health & Social Care Specialist

Location: East London
Start Date: ASAP or September 2026
Salary: £160-£210 per day (dependent on experience)
Contract: Full-time, long-term or permanent

We are seeking an enthusiastic and knowledgeable Social Sciences Teacher with a strong specialism in Health and Social Care to join a vibrant secondary school in East London. The successful candidate will deliver engaging lessons across KS4 and KS5
, preparing students for GCSE, BTEC, and A-Level qualifications
.

• Plan and deliver high-quality lessons in Health & Social Care and related Social Sciences subjects
• Prepare students for BTEC and A-Level assessments
• Differentiate teaching to meet diverse learner needs
• Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback
  
  Contribute to departmental planning and curriculum development
• Promote a positive and inclusive learning environment

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
• Strong subject knowledge in Health & Social Care and Social Sciences
• Experience teaching KS4 and KS5 (GCSE/BTEC/A-Level)
• Excellent classroom management and communication skills
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting student welfare

• Experience with vocational qualifications and awarding bodies (Pearson, OCR)
• Ability to teach Sociology or Psychology alongside Health & Social Care
