8:30am - 4:00pm, Monday to Friday
We are seeking a confident, resilient and highly adaptable Behaviour Support Assistant to join a specialist SEN school supporting students aged 11‑19 (KS3‑KS5). This is a full‑time role suited to someone with previous SEN school experience who thrives in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment and is comfortable responding to changing needs throughout the school day.
You will play a key role in supporting behaviour, engagement and emotional regulation across the school, working closely with teaching and pastoral staff.
Responsibilities- Provide in‑class behaviour support across multiple lessons and departments
- Respond quickly and professionally to behaviour support requests from staff
- Deliver short‑term, targeted interventions on a 1:1 or 1:2 basis
- Support students with regulation, engagement and transitions
- Assist with off‑site activities, including swimming and outdoor learning
- Follow changing timetables and priorities with flexibility and professionalism
- Have experience working in a specialist SEN school (essential)
- Be flexible and confident supporting different age groups and needs
- Be physically active and able to support students with complex needs
- Demonstrate resilience and confidence managing behaviours that challenge
- Communicate effectively and work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
- Maintain a calm, professional and proactive approach at all times
Please note:
Mainstream‑only experience or sports coaching backgrounds are not suitable for this role.
