HoursMonday to Friday, 8:30am – 3:30pm
About the RoleWe are seeking an energetic and motivated PE Graduate Teaching Assistant to join our supportive and vibrant school community in Wandsworth. This role is ideal for a recent PE or Sports Science graduate who is passionate about physical education, health, and wellbeing, and keen to gain valuable school-based experience while supporting pupils’ physical and personal development.
Key Responsibilities- Support the class teacher and PE staff in delivering engaging and inclusive PE lessons
- Assist with the organisation and supervision of physical activities, games, and sports sessions
- Work with individual pupils and small groups to support skill development and participation
- Promote positive behaviour, teamwork, and sportsmanship
- Help create a safe, inclusive, and active learning environment
- Support pupils with additional needs, adapting activities where required
- Assist with setting up and maintaining PE equipment and resources
- Monitor pupils’ progress and engagement, providing feedback to teaching staff
- Build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents
- A degree in Physical Education, Sports Science, Sport & Exercise Science, or a related subject
- A strong interest in pursuing a career in teaching, coaching, or youth sport
- Previous experience working with children or young people (desirable)
- A proactive, enthusiastic, and confident approach
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Enhanced DBS check or willingness to undergo checks
- A commitment to inclusion, equality, and promoting healthy lifestyles
- A supportive and welcoming school environment
- Hands‑on experience within a PE department for aspiring teachers
