AboutThe Role
We are seeking an enthusiastic, knowledgeable, and inspiring
Classics Specialist to teach pupils from
Year 3 upwards, fostering a love of the classical world, its languages, literature, history, and lasting influence.
The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering a vibrant and ambitious Classics curriculum and will contribute actively to the academic, pastoral, and co-curricular lifeof the school. The ability to teach Latin and/or Greekis viewed very positively and will help further enrich provision as the subject continues to develop.
In this role, you will teach Classics to pupils from Year 3 upwards, inspiring curiosity about the ancient world and fostering a love of language, literature, mythology, and classical civilisation. You will deliver engaging lessons in Latin and/or Greek, preparing pupils for senior school entrance exams and scholarship assessments where appropriate. As the department continues to grow, you will help shape a coherent, forward‑thinking curriculum and contribute fresh ideas to support its ongoing development.
You will extend learning beyond the classroom by running clubs, workshops, competitions, and enrichment opportunities, making full use of the school’s central London setting, including museums and cultural institutions. You will also play an active role in wider school life through sports, themed weeks, trips, assemblies, and whole‑school events, modelling the school’s values…
