Nurture Room SEND Teaching Assistant – Full‑time, long‑term temporary and ongoing role starting as soon as possible

This school provides a calm, nurturing, and well‑structured learning environment where pupils benefit from clear routines, supportive relationships, and staff who understand their individual needs. Leaders work closely with practitioners to uphold high expectations, helping pupils feel safe, settled, and ready to learn. Pupils respond well to consistent approaches that promote emotional regulation, confidence, and steady academic and personal development.

Duties as Nurture Room SEND Teaching Assistant:
  • Provide tailored support within the nurture room for pupils with a range of SEND needs
  • Support emotional regulation, social development, and routine building
  • Work with small groups and on a 1:1 basis to reinforce key learning
  • Assist with structured interventions and therapeutic activities
  • Implement behaviour and support plans consistently
  • Create a calm, safe, and predictable environment for pupils
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, SEN staff, and pastoral teams
  • Uphold safeguarding standards and prioritise pupil welfare
Ideal Nurture Room SEND Teaching Assistant:
  • Strong SEND experience, especially with SEMH and nurture‑based support
  • Calm, patient, and nurturing approach
  • Confident supporting pupils who may be dysregulated or anxious
  • Good communication and teamwork skills
  • Comfortable implementing routines, behaviour plans, and regulation strategies
  • Adaptable, resilient, and proactive in supporting a range of needs
  • Dedicated to safeguarding and promoting pupil well‑being
  • Reliable and committed to long‑term consistency for pupils
