Long Term Futures is partnering with a Sutton based primary school to recruit a dedicated Behaviour Mentor. The school is committed to providing a nurturing environment for all pupils, particularly those who require additional support to engage with their learning and manage their emotions effectively.
Responsibilities
Provide 1:1 and small group support to students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
Implement de-escalation strategies and manage challenging behaviour effectively.
Act as a positive role model, building rapport and trust with disengaged learners.
Work closely with the SENCO and class teachers to monitor progress and adapt learning materials.
Support the social and emotional development of pupils to help them reintegrate into classroom settings.
Essential Candidate Requirements
Previous experience working with children or young people (coaching, youth work, or school-based experience is highly valued).
A resilient, calm, and patient personality.
Strong communication skills and the ability to set clear boundaries.
An understanding of SEMH and the barriers to learning faced by vulnerable pupils.
A valid Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or a willingness to apply for one).What Long Term Futures Offers
