Behaviour Support Assistant

Secondary School - Greenwich

Full-time

Start Date:

After February Half Term

Are you calm under pressure and passionate about making a difference in young people's lives?

A large, inclusive secondary school in Greenwich is seeking an experienced, proactive and compassionate Behaviour specialist to join their team in February. This role is ideal for individuals with experience supporting students with challenging behaviour or Special Educational Needs (SEN), particularly those with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.

The Role

As a Behaviour Support, you will provide crucial on-call support across the school day. When students become disruptive or are struggling in class, you'll be called to safely remove them from lessons, help them regulate their emotions, and support them in returning to learning as quickly as possible. Your calm, empathetic and consistent approach will play a key part in maintaining a positive learning environment across the school.

Key Responsibilities
  • Respond to on-call behaviour alerts throughout the school
  • Support students in emotional regulation and de-escalation
  • Work closely with pastoral and SEN teams
  • Encourage a smooth reintegration of students back into lessons
About the School

This is a large, mixed secondary school in Greenwich that prides itself on its inclusive ethos and vibrant school community. Students benefit from a broad and engaging curriculum, enrichment activities, and strong pastoral support. Staff are supported through a structured professional development programme and a collaborative leadership team.

What We're Looking For
  • Experience supporting young people with SEN or SEMH needs
  • A calm, professional, and supportive approach to behaviour management
  • Confidence in working independently and responding to situations in real time

We have a policy to respond to all applications within three working days. However, because of the volume of applications, we are sometimes unable to reply to individual enquiries. If we have not contacted you within this specified time, your application has been unsuccessful on this occasion.
