Pay: £100–£115 per day (dependent on experience)
Contract:
Full-time, Temporary (with potential to become permanent)
Are you a compassionate and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant looking to make a real difference in a specialist setting?
We are working with an outstanding Special Needs School that offers exceptional facilities and a highly supportive environment for both staff and pupils. The school is seeking an enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils with a range of additional needs, including ASD, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, and complex learning needs.
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a well-resourced school with modern sensory rooms, therapy spaces, specialist equipment, and strong multidisciplinary support.
About the Role As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers, the SENCO, therapists, and support staff to provide tailored support to pupils with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs). You will play a key role in helping pupils access learning in a safe, structured, and nurturing environment.
Your Responsibilities
Provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with special educational needs
Support pupils with communication, emotional regulation, and social development
Assist with implementing EHCP targets and personalised learning plans
Use specialist resources and sensory strategies to support engagement
Support positive behaviour management strategies
Assist with personal care where required
Help create a calm, structured, and inclusive learning environment
Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and external professionals
What We’re Looking For
GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths (Grades 4–9)
Experience working with children with special educational needs (school or care setting)
A patient, resilient, and nurturing approach
Strong communication and teamwork skills
A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs
Experience with autism or complex needs is highly desirable
Team Teach or similar training is beneficial (but not essential)
