History Teacher - Independent School - Richmond
Year 5 to Year 7 | March July 2026 | Full Time
Academics are delighted to be working in partnership with a highly regarded and well-established Independent School in the desirable borough of Richmond. We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic History Teacher to join their team from March 2026 through to July 2026, with potential opportunities to extend.
This full-time position (Monday to Friday) will involve teaching History across Key Stage 2 and into Key Stage 3, delivering engaging, well-structured lessons to pupils in Years 5 to 7. The successful candidate will become part of a supportive and forward-thinking Humanities department within a school renowned for its strong academic ethos, excellent facilities, and commitment to high-quality teaching and learning.
The Role
You will be responsible for planning and delivering inspiring History lessons that challenge and motivate very able and well-behaved students. The school is looking for a teacher with strong curriculum knowledge, creativity in lesson delivery, and the ability to foster curiosity and critical thinking across both primary and lower secondary phases.
The School
This Independent School offers a unique blend of tradition and innovation. The historic character of the original building is complemented by modern, state-of-the-art facilities and impressive outdoor spaces for both pupils and staff. Class sizes are smaller than average, allowing teachers to focus on high-quality, personalised learning.
Staff benefit from a collaborative working environment, excellent resources, and a leadership team that prioritises professional development and staff wellbeing. Ongoing CPD opportunities are readily available, and teachers are supported to continually refine and develop their practice.
What We're Looking For
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
* Experience teaching History across KS2 and/or KS3
* Strong subject knowledge and a passion for History
* A commitment to high academic standards
* The ability to contribute positively to a close-knit Humanities team
If you are an experienced Primary or Secondary History Teacher seeking an exciting new opportunity within a flourishing and supportive independent school environment, we would love to hear from you.
Interviews will be arranged over the next two weeks, with the successful History Teacher joining the team from March 2026. Please get in touch today to discuss this fantastic opportunity further
