SEND Teacher – Key Stage 1 (ASD Focus)

Contract:
Full Academic Year (with view to go permanent)
Hours:
Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 4:00pm
Pay: £180 – £230 per day PAYE (Negotiable)
About the Role
We are currently recruiting for a passionate and dedicated SEND Teacher to join a specialist setting in Bromley (BR1), supporting pupils in Key Stage 1 with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and associated learning needs.
This is a full-time position for the academic year, with the strong possibility of a permanent contract for the right candidate. You will play a vital role in delivering personalised, engaging lessons tailored to meet the individual needs of young learners with ASD.
The school offers a nurturing and structured environment where pupils are supported to develop communication skills, emotional regulation, independence, and a love of learning. You will be working alongside an experienced SEND leadership team, skilled support staff, and external professionals to ensure every child reaches their full potential.
Key Responsibilities
* Plan and deliver differentiated lessons suited to pupils with ASD
* Create a structured, engaging, and inclusive classroom environment
* Use a range of communication strategies (e.g. visual supports, structured routines)
* Monitor and assess progress in line with EHCP targets
* Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, therapists, and parents
The Ideal Candidate Will:
* Hold QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) or an equivalent recognised qualification
* Have experience teaching pupils with ASD and/or additional needs (or a strong interest in SEND)
* Be patient, reflective, and adaptable in their approach
* Demonstrate strong behaviour management and communication skills
