We are seeking a dedicated SEN Learning Mentor to join our educational team in Woolwich. This role is perfect for individuals who are passionate about supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and have experience working with children in a school setting.
Responsibilities- Provide one-on-one and group support to students with SEN, focusing on their individual learning and emotional needs.
- Develop and maintain strong, supportive relationships with students, encouraging their academic and personal growth.
- Collaborate with teachers and other educational staff to implement effective learning strategies tailored to the needs of each student.
- Monitor and track the progress of students, adapting support methods as needed to maximize student success.
- Advocate for the needs of SEN students within the school environment, ensuring they receive appropriate resources and support.
- Engage in continuous professional development to stay informed about the latest educational practices and techniques for supporting SEN students.
Skills & Qualifications
- Proven experience working with children in a school setting, particularly those with special educational needs.
- A strong passion for assisting children who require additional support in their education.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with students, parents, and educational staff.
- A patient and empathetic approach, with a commitment to fostering a supportive learning environment.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
