SEN Teacher - September Start | Richmond

The Role:
As an SEN Teacher in this specialist setting, you will deliver engaging, tailored lessons designed to meet the individual needs of learners working below age-related expectations. You will lead a class supported by skilled teaching assistants and collaborate closely with therapists and the wider SEN team.
This role requires creativity, patience, and a strong understanding of differentiated teaching approaches for pupils with complex needs.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan and deliver personalised, sensory-rich lessons tailored to pupils' needs
Develop IEPs and contribute to EHCPs
Assess and monitor pupil progress using appropriate assessment tools
Support communication development using strategies such as PECS, Makaton, or AAC where appropriate
Requirements:
QTS or equivalent teaching qualification
Experience working in a specialist or SEN setting
Understanding of complex learning needs and differentiated teaching strategies
Knowledge of communication approaches such as Makaton, PECS, or visual communication systems
