Customer Advisor

Overview

Bexley Libraries are looking for dedicated and customer focused individuals to join the libraries team as a Customer Advisor. There are 4 posts available, with varying hours between Monday and Saturday; some posts include one late night per week until 7pm.

Location:

Central Library, Bexleyheath.

• Be the public face of the Council and support the library team
• Issue and return books and other items
• Keep shelves tidy and attractive
• Help customers use IT facilities
• Prepare and deliver children’s and adult events and activities
• Support colleagues in creating a welcoming and vibrant environment for all visitors
• Share knowledge of the wide range of books and other stock

• Flexibility, eagerness to learn, and excellent customer service skills
• A keen interest in books and reading
• Good IT skills
• Ability to work as part of a great team

Applications are invited from candidates with a passion for libraries and serving the local community. You will be keen to play a role in making Bexley a great place to live, work and visit by providing important services and inspiring our customers to make the most of their libraries.

As part of the libraries’ team, the post holder will be required to work in all libraries across the borough to cover absence, occasionally at short notice.
