Learning Support Assistant

Position: Learning Support Assistant (Contract)
A welcoming and inclusive Primary School in Islington is seeking an experienced Learning Support Assistant to provide dedicated 1:1 support for a Year 5 pupil with challenging behaviour.

This is a rewarding role suited to someone patient, resilient and confident in supporting pupils who need additional help with behaviour regulation and engagement in learning.

The Role:

Providing consistent 1:1 support within a Year 5 classroom

Supporting the pupil to manage behaviour and remain focused on tasks

Implementing agreed behaviour strategies and support plans

Working closely with the class teacher and SENCO

Promoting positive social skills and emotional development

Encouraging independence while maintaining clear boundaries

The Ideal Candidate :

Proven experience supporting children with challenging behaviour

Strong behaviour management and de-escalation skills

Calm, consistent and nurturing approach

Ability to build positive and trusting relationships

Good communication and teamwork skills

Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
