Job Overview
The Commercial Industries and Access School at Kingston College is seeking a Vocational Skills Assessor to facilitate the effective and efficient practical and online assessment of learners and the development of their commercial, employability and enterprise skills.
ResponsibilitiesYou will assess learners on a variety of programmes across the School, including Level 1, 2, and 3 in hairdressing and/or barbering and Customer Service. You will provide prompt and constructive feedback after the assessment, maintain a strong client base in the commercial salons, ensure income targets are met, and undertake assessments in the College salons and other practical areas. A professional image and a safe, secure environment will be maintained.
You will support teaching teams and learners in the reception, salon and practical areas, assisting them to work professionally and achieve commercial and employability skills. Reception duties include daily cashing up, managing client bookings, increasing client numbers and weekly income targets, and promoting retail sales, campaigns and displays.
The role will involve working across sections within the School, including reception duties, and may also involve evenings and Saturdays.
Qualifications- Hold a Level 3 qualification in hairdressing and/or barbering.
- Demonstrate recent industrial experience and excellent demonstration skills in hairdressing.
- Hold an assessing qualification or be willing to work towards one, and have awareness of academic quality standards.
