Are you passionate about supporting children who have experienced trauma and helping them thrive in school? We’re looking for a compassionate, skilled SEN Teaching Assistant – Trauma Specialist to join a dedicated school team and make a real difference.
About the RoleAs a Trauma Specialist SEN TA, you will:
- Support children with social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs, focusing on those who have experienced trauma.
- Work closely with teachers, SENCOs, and other professionals to deliver personalised support and interventions.
- Help create a nurturing and safe classroom environment that promotes learning, resilience, and wellbeing.
- Observe, report, and contribute to the development of individual education plans (IEPs) and behaviour support plans.
Our ideal candidate is:
- Experienced in working with children with SEN, SEMH needs, or trauma-informed approaches.
- Patient, empathetic, and able to build strong, trusting relationships with pupils.
- Confident in delivering interventions and supporting children in small groups or one-to-one.
- Excellent at communication and teamwork, with a positive, proactive approach.
- Thrive-trained or willing to undertake free Protocol Education Thrive Training to boost your skills and career prospects.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
