Step Into Teaching is looking for a dedicated and motivated Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join a forward-thinking secondary school supporting students in an SEMH school

• provide specialist support for students that will complement the professional work of teachers in the Humanities Department both inside and outside of the classroom.
• Support teaching staff by leading small group sessions or covering lessons.
• Help students build independence and actively participate in the curriculum and wider school life.
• Contribute to creating a positive, inclusive, and engaging learning environment.

We’re seeking candidates who are enthusiastic, dynamic, and ambitious, with the skills to motivate students and work collaboratively as part of a pupil-centred team.

• Predicted/Hold a degree (2:2 or above)
• Be supportive, friendly, and approachable.
• Be resilient and motivated to support and inspire students to reach their full potential and strive to achieve excellence.
• Hold experience working with young people (preferable, but not essential)
• Have a creative and reflective mindset within the classroom.
• Be able to work as part of a team

• The ability to establish a warm, caring, and supportive relationship with pupils to support them and gain valuable 1-1 experience. This experience will allow you to gain insight into what the day-to-day classroom environment is like, and insight into the role of a teacher.
• The confidence to promote and encourage personal development in pupils, whilst maintaining high expectations of behaviour.
• The proven ability to work collaboratively within a multi-professional team.
• Full-time role – Monday - Friday
• Start ASAP for the rest of the 25/26 academic year and beyond
• £575 - £600 per week - term time only
