🌟 About the Role A welcoming and inclusive primary school in Streatham is seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join their supportive team. This is a fantastic opportunity to work closely with pupils who require additional support, helping them access learning, build confidence, and thrive within the classroom environment.
The successful candidate will work alongside the class teacher and SENCO to support pupils with a range of additional needs, including Autism (ASD), Speech and Language difficulties, and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
🧩 Key Responsibilities
Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with special educational needs
Support pupils in developing communication, social, and emotional skills
Adapt learning materials to meet individual learning needs
Work collaboratively with the class teacher, SENCO, and external professionals
Encourage positive behaviour and engagement in learning
Help create a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment✅
The Ideal Candidate
Experience working with children with SEN, particularly ASD or speech and language needs
Background in education, psychology, childcare, or support work is desirable
A patient, nurturing, and resilient approach
Strong communication and teamwork skills
A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs🎓 This Role Would Suit
Aspiring Educational Psychologists or Speech & Language Therapists
Graduates in Psychology, Education, or Child Development
