Behaviour Intervention Specialist / Teaching Assistant - PRU School
Location:
South London
Pay: £95-£115 per day
Start: ASAP
Contract:
Full-time, term time only
Remedy Education are seeking a resilient and experienced Behaviour Intervention Specialist / Teaching Assistant to support pupils within a Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) in South London.
This role is ideal for someone with experience supporting students with complex behavioural needs, SEMH, and pupils at risk of offending behaviour. The successful candidate will work as part of a specialist team supporting young people who require a highly structured and therapeutic learning environment.
You will play a key role in supporting pupils with high-risk behaviours, delivering targeted intervention programmes, and working alongside senior staff to maintain a safe and supportive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities
Supporting pupils with SEMH needs and complex behavioural presentations
Delivering targeted behaviour and intervention programmes
Supporting pupils who may be known to youth justice services or MAPPA processes
Implementing behaviour support plans and risk management strategies
Working closely with pastoral teams, safeguarding leads, and external agencies
Supporting pupils to regulate behaviour and engage positively with learning
Promoting positive behaviour, inclusion, and emotional wellbeing
Supporting staff in managing challenging situations calmly and safely
Requirements
Experience working in a PRU, alternative provision, or SEMH school
Knowledge or experience of MAPPA processes or working with high-risk young people
Experience delivering behaviour interventions or pastoral support
Strong behaviour management and de-escalation skills
Resilience, professionalism, and the ability to remain calm under pressure
A genuine passion for supporting vulnerable young people
Experience with Team Teach, behaviour intervention training, or safeguarding training would be highly desirable.
