South Thames College is seeking an experienced Electrical Installation lecturer to deliver outstanding quality in teaching, learning, assessment, and tutorial support to students, to maximise achievement and continuous improvement. You will play a key role in supporting the development of the curriculum, with employer engagement, and learner skills development.
You’ll create and implement innovative teaching, learning and assessment and deliver teaching and assessment activities within your area of specialism including lectures, setting/marking coursework, practicals and field work.
We’d like you to hold a teaching qualification (or working towards), hold an Electrical Installation qualification and have recent UK teaching experience in Electrical Installation in an FE College. With proven ability to plan and deliver high‑quality, engaging lessons, you’ll have experience of assessing, tracking and supporting student progress effectively with strong classroom management skills, able to motivate diverse learners.
You’ll have a good understanding of current FE curriculum frameworks and quality standards, be able to differentiate teaching to meet a wide range of learner needs. A strong communicator and excellent organisational skills, you’ll be able to manage workload and meet deadlines.
Potential Uplift- Relevant Vocational Qualification (Level
3) - Teaching qualification or willingness to complete
- Relevant industry experience
- Hold a JIB ECS Card with a grade at approved of Site Technician status
- Additional Qualifications in Electrical Installation e.g. 2382 (18th Edition)
- Assessors Award D32/33 or TAQA equivalent.
The successful candidate will be eligible for any increase in salary as a consequence of the annual cost of living review that will be implemented in the new academic year.
