Part Time Sports Coach - St Benedict's Catholic Primary School The Role

The Governors of St Benedict’s Catholic Primary School are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, reliable and skilled Sports Coach to deliver the Physical Education curriculum to all classes from Nursery to Year 6, starting September 2026.

St Benedict’s is a welcoming Catholic primary school with a strong sense of community, excellent behaviour, and a commitment to the physical, social and spiritual development of every child.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

• Planning and delivering high-quality curriculum P.E. lessons across the whole school, from Nursery to Year 6.
• Ensuring lessons are inclusive, engaging and appropriate for a range of ages and abilities.
• Promoting healthy lifestyles, teamwork, resilience and enjoyment of physical activity.
• Working alongside class teachers and school leaders to support pupil progress and wellbeing.
• Upholding the Catholic ethos and values of the school at all times.

The Successful Candidate Will:

• Have experience of delivering sports or physical activity to primary-aged children.
• Demonstrate good organisation and behaviour management skills.
• Be enthusiastic, dependable and able to motivate children across a wide age range.
• Be able to work independently while also forming positive relationships with staff and pupils.
• Be fully supportive of the Catholic ethos of the school.

A relevant sports or coaching qualification or equivalent is desirable.

The successful applicant will be subject to an enhanced DBS disclosure, satisfactory references and online checks in line with Keeping Children Safe in Education.

• Preferably 4 afternoons per week (negotiable) 1.00pm – 3.00pm
• Term time only (This post is suitable for an individual seeking part-time afternoon work during the school week.)
• Fixed Term for 1 year subject to PE funding
