Skills and Qualifications (Essential)

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
  • Experience of teaching within a secondary school setting.
  • Strong subject knowledge and a commitment to academic excellence.
  • A thorough understanding of effective teaching, learning, and assessment strategies.
  • Excellent classroom management skills and the ability to create a purposeful and engaging learning environment.
  • High expectations for pupil achievement, behaviour, attendance, and personal development.
  • The ability to plan and deliver challenging, well-structured lessons that inspire and motivate pupils.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and contribute positively to departmental and whole-school development.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
  • A commitment to continuous professional development and reflective practice.
Desirable
  • Experience of teaching in a faith school setting.
  • Experience supporting pupils with SEND and adapting teaching to meet individual needs.
  • Experience using assessment data to monitor progress and raise attainment.
  • Experience contributing to curriculum development or wider school initiatives.
  • Experience of pastoral responsibilities or mentoring pupils.
