Are you a recent/upcoming science graduate with a passion for education? If you’re considering a future in teaching and want to gain meaningful experience in the classroom, this is an excellent opportunity to step into a full-time role supporting secondary school students in a dynamic North London school.

The Opportunity

We are looking for a bright and enthusiastic Science Graduate to join a forward-thinking secondary school in Haringey as a Teaching Assistant. You’ll work closely with students aged 11–16, supporting them in science lessons and across the curriculum. This is a fantastic first step for graduates who are serious about progressing into teacher training or are considering working within education. This school offers teacher training to promising TAs and has put multiple Science Grads through this pathway in the last 2–3 years.

Role Will Involve
  • Assisting teachers in delivering engaging science lessons
  • Supporting students 1:1 or in small groups with classwork, homework, and revision
  • Helping to manage behaviour and maintain a positive learning environment
  • Offering targeted support to students who may need extra help grasping key scientific concepts
  • Contributing to wider school life, including extracurricular activities and enrichment
What We’re Looking For
  • A degree in a science subject (Biology, Chemistry, Physics, or related field)
  • A genuine interest in working with young people and in education
  • Some experience with secondary-aged pupils – e.g., through tutoring, mentoring, summer schools, or previous TA work
  • A confident communicator with good organisational skills
  • A proactive, positive, and reliable approach
