Lecturer A Level History (0.6 FTE)
We are seeking an enthusiastic, knowledgeable, and student-focused Lecturer in A Level History to join our successful and supportive Humanities department on a 0.6 FTE basis. The successful candidate will be passionate about History education and committed to delivering high-quality teaching that inspires students to achieve their full potential.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced lecturer or an ambitious early career teacher looking to contribute to a thriving sixth form environment with a strong academic ethos.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver engaging and effective A Level History lessons.
- Plan, prepare, and assess learning in line with curriculum requirements.
- Monitor student progress and provide timely feedback and support.
- Contribute to curriculum development and enrichment activities.
- Maintain accurate student records and participate in departmental meetings.
- Support students academic achievement and personal development.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to promote high standards of teaching and learning.
- A relevant degree in History or a related subject.
- A recognised teaching qualification (PGCE or equivalent) with QTS or QTLS status.
- Experience teaching A Level History.
- Strong subject knowledge and excellent communication skills.
- The ability to motivate and engage young people.
- Excellent organisational and administrative skills.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people.
- Experience with in a sixth form or further education setting.
- A track record of strong student outcomes.
- Experience contributing to enrichment or wider college activities.
- A supportive and collaborative working environment.
