We are supporting a well-established professional organisation in the search for a Head of Education & Training to lead and develop its global education function.
This is a senior leadership opportunity for an experienced education professional who can oversee the delivery of qualifications, courses and examinations while driving innovation across both traditional and digital learning platforms.
The successful candidate will play a key role in shaping educational strategy, managing high-performing teams and ensuring an exceptional experience for students and stakeholders worldwide.
The Role
Reporting into the senior leadership team, you will be responsible for the overall management of the education department, ensuring the successful delivery and continuous improvement of professional qualifications, online learning programmes and examination processes.
You will lead a team of education professionals while working closely with tutors, examiners, assessors and external partners to maintain high standards and support future growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor and develop the education team and wider network of tutors and assessors.
- Contribute to organisational strategy, business planning and budgeting as part of the senior management team.
- Oversee the global delivery of courses, examinations and qualifications, ensuring quality, efficiency and compliance.
- Drive continuous improvement across educational programmes, syllabuses and assessment processes.
- Lead the development and expansion of digital learning initiatives and online educational resources.
- Manage relationships with external teaching centres, education partners and other stakeholders.
- Oversee the review and development of study materials, course content and learning resources.
- Support the design and delivery of bespoke and corporate training programmes.
- Monitor student performance data and trends to inform future educational strategy.
- Promote educational offerings to increase student engagement and programme growth.
- Represent the organisation at industry events and contribute to marketing and partnership initiatives.
- Deputise for senior leadership when required.
About You
- Significant leadership experience within education, training, professional qualifications or learning & development.
- A track record of managing teams and driving organisational improvement.
- Experience overseeing examinations, assessments, accreditation or qualification programmes.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Experience developing digital learning platforms or online education initiatives.
- Commercial awareness with the ability to identify growth opportunities and manage budgets.
- A collaborative leadership style and passion for delivering high-quality education.
Maritime or shipping industry experience is welcome but not essential.
We are equally interested in candidates from professional bodies, awarding organisations, higher education, training providers or other sectors with transferable experience.
