Job Title
Assistant Professor or clinical/non‑clinical Associate Professor in Public Health and Community Involvement – Department of Epidemiology and Biostatistics, School of Public Health, Faculty of Medicine.
Main DutiesProvide academic leadership for participatory research within the School of Public Health and support translational research across the Faculty and into the local community.
Responsibilities- Lead research and education in participatory methods, building on an established research record in public health or a related discipline.
- Ensure continuity of participatory initiatives through the Imperial Patient Experience Research Centre (PERC) and strengthen collaborations with academics, public partners, and the local community.
- Advisory and training role for researchers and public partners on mixed‑method, qualitative and participatory approaches.
- Recruit, support and engage a network of public and community partners, providing resources, training, and outreach to build community trust.
- Advise the Biomedical Research Centre on research inclusion and broader equality, diversity and inclusion programmes.
- Support the Research Hub at the Pears Cumbria School of Medicine.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to undergraduate and postgraduate students and supervise higher‑degree research.
- PhD in Public Health, Community Involvement or a related field (or equivalent).
- National or international reputation and expertise in public health and community involvement.
- Proven track record of high‑quality publications.
- Demonstrated ability to work across disciplines and specialities.
- Experience training and supervising undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral students.
- Experience at the interface of academia and public practice.
- For clinical appointments: registration on the GMC Specialist Register or UKPHR (or eligibility within 6 months); CCT or equivalent (or within 6 months); evidence of up‑to‑date CPD.
- Sector‑leading salary and remuneration package:
- Assistant Professor (non‑clinical): £70,718 – £80,148 per annum
- Associate Professor (non‑clinical): starting salary £82,969 per annum
- Clinical Consultant: £105,504 – £145,477 per annum
- 41 days off a year and generous pension scheme.
