Speech & Language Specialist - Newham - ASAP Start

Details of the Role:

We are recruiting for a Speech and Language Teaching Assistant to work in a primary school in Newham, London. Starting ASAP, this full-time role is until the end of the academic year, with the possibility of extension.

Your responsibilities will include working with children in KS1/KS2, sharing duties with another staff member. You will support a non-verbal child with Speech and Language Difficulties, primarily within the classroom. Knowledge of PECS and Welcome are advantageous. A good understanding of the EYFS curriculum is essential. The salary ranges from £100 - 150 per day, depending on experience.

To be successful in this role, you should:

Have school-based experience in a primary setting or a background in Speech and Language therapy

Have SEND experience

Be subject to an Enhanced DBS check, Overseas Police Clearances (if applicable), and professional references
