Experienced Geography Teacher / ECT

Starting September 2026, full‑time permanent contract at a 'Good' graded secondary school in Tower Hamlets, on the MPS/UPS Outer London Pay Scale.

We are looking for an experienced Geography teacher or an Early Careers Teacher (ECT) completing a PGCE/SCITT to join our high‑achieving Humanities Department. The role involves planning, preparing and delivering engaging geography lessons across the curriculum, setting clear learning objectives, and creating a safe, enjoyable learning environment.

  • Permanent, full‑time contract starting September 2026
  • Pay: MPS/UPS3 Inner London Pay Scale (TLR possible for the right candidate)

  • School graded 'Good' consecutively, delivering outstanding GCSE & A Level results

Responsibilities
  • Plan, prepare and deliver engaging geography lessons across the curriculum.
  • Set clear, relevant learning objectives for key stages.
  • Create a safe and enjoyable learning environment.
  • Manage classroom behaviour with effective strategies.
  • Support extracurricular activities and provide additional help and support when needed.
Qualifications
  • Experience teaching geography at secondary level, or an ECT completing PGCE/SCITT.
  • Strong subject knowledge and ability to deliver outstanding lessons.
  • Capability to manage behaviour and engage students.
  • Willingness to work within a supportive induction programme (for new teachers).
