The Supply Register is proud to be working in partnership with Lewisham College to recruit dedicated 1:1 Learning Support Assistants to provide individualised support to learners with additional needs.
This rewarding role offers the opportunity to make a significant difference to students' educational experiences by providing tailored support that enables them to access learning, build confidence, and achieve their full potential.
We are seeking compassionate, reliable, and learner-focused individuals to work on a supply, temporary, or sessional basis, depending on college requirements.
The RoleAs a 1:1 Learning Support Assistant at Lewisham College, you will work directly with individual learners, providing personalised support both inside and outside the classroom.
Responsibilities include:- Providing dedicated 1:1 support to learners with SEND, EHCPs, or additional learning needs
- Supporting learners to access the curriculum and participate fully in lessons
- Assisting with academic, social, emotional, and communication needs
- Encouraging independence, confidence, and engagement in learning
- Supporting positive behaviour and helping learners achieve agreed targets
- Liaising with lecturers, learning support teams, and other professionals to ensure learners receive appropriate support
- Promoting a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment
We welcome applications from individuals with experience in education, care, youth work, mentoring, or support roles.
Essential Requirements:- GCSE Grade C/4 or above (or equivalent) in English and Maths
- Experience supporting young people or adults in an educational, care, or support setting
- Understanding of SEND and inclusive learning practices
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to build positive, professional relationships with learners
- Patient, empathetic, and adaptable approach to supporting individual needs
- Previous experience working in a 1:1 support role
- Experience with in a Further Education setting
- Relevant qualifications in Education, Learning Support, Health & Social Care, or a related field
