Textiles & Art Technician

Overview

Putney High School is seeking a dedicated and creative Textiles & Art Technician to provide high-quality support across both departments, enabling smooth day-to-day teaching and learning. The role focuses on preparing and organising materials, equipment and resources, offering technical support to staff and students, and contributing to an inspiring studio environment where students can develop their creative skills. Working flexibly across Textiles and Art, the Technician will support lessons, examinations and extra-curricular activities, and help showcase students’ work through exhibitions and displays.

The successful candidate will maintain safe, well-organised studios and manage departmental resources effectively, including stock control, ordering supplies and ensuring equipment is properly maintained. The role requires strong organisational and technical skills—particularly in textiles processes, garment construction and creative practice—and a collaborative approach supporting staff and students and contributing to the wider life of the school.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone passionate about Art, Textiles and Design to support a vibrant Faculty and enrich students’ love for the Arts.

• Prepare and organise materials, equipment and resources for Textiles and Art teaching and learning.
• Provide technical support to staff and students in both departments.
