Choice Teachers are currently working with an education provider in Edmonton who are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Motor Vehicle Instructor
, Vocational Instructor
, Vocational Tutor
, or STEM Instructor to join their team on a permanent basis.
This is an exciting opportunity to work within an Alternative Provision setting supporting young people aged 14-19 who may have additional needs, barriers to learning, or have become disengaged from mainstream education. The successful candidate will deliver engaging and practical sessions in Motor Vehicle Studies
, STEM subjects
, and Functional Skills
, helping young people build confidence, gain new skills, and progress into further education, training, and employment.
This role would suit an experienced Instructor
, Mentor
, Behaviour Mentor
, Youth Worker
, FE Lecturer
, Vocational Tutor
, or someone from a motor vehicle background who is passionate about making a genuine difference to young people's lives.
The role is term-time only and includes 13 weeks paid holiday

- Deliver engaging and practical sessions in Motor Vehicle Studies
, STEM subjects
, and Functional Skills - Support learners aged 14-19 within an Alternative Provision environment
- Plan and deliver structured, hands‑on learning activities
- Support young people in developing confidence, employability skills, teamwork, and communication
- Use positive behaviour strategies and build strong relationships with learners
- Monitor learner progress and maintain accurate records
- Work collaboratively with support staff, parents, and external agencies where required
- Create a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment
- Support young people with additional needs and barriers to learning
- Act as a positive role model and Mentor for young people who may require additional guidance and support
- Have experience working as a Motor Vehicle Instructor
, Vocational Instructor
, Vocational Tutor
, STEM Instructor
, FE Lecturer
, Behaviour Mentor
, Youth Worker
, or within an Alternative Provision setting - Have experience supporting young people, particularly those who may be disengaged from education
- Have strong classroom or group management skills
- Be confident delivering practical, hands‑on learning sessions
- Be passionate about helping young people achieve their potential
- Have excellent communication and relationship‑building skills
- Be resilient, patient, and able to motivate learners with a range of needs
- Have experience delivering Functional Skills or vocational qualifications (desirable)
- Hold an Enhanced DBS or be willing to obtain one
- Permanent, full-time opportunity
