Are you passionate about supporting young people with Special Educational Needs? We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate SEND Teaching Assistant to join a mainstream college in Redbridge, working within a well-established SEND Department. This is a highly rewarding role supporting students with low-level Autism (ASD) who are working at a younger developmental level, across 8 small, supportive classes.
What You’ll Be Doing- Supporting students with Autism (ASD) and additional needs including ADHD, medical needs, challenging behaviour
- Providing 1:1 and small group support in the classroom
- Assisting with personal care where required
- Encouraging independence, confidence, and engagement
- Working closely with teachers and SEND specialists
Experience with SEND is essential, either from:
- A school or college setting (highly desirable)
- And/or a care background, supporting young adults with SEND
Minimum qualifications:
- GCSE Maths & English (Grade A–C / 4–9 or equivalent)
You must be:
- Comfortable with personal care requirements
- Confident managing challenging behaviour
- Patient, resilient, and committed to supporting SEND learners
Important:
