A successful and high-achieving secondary school in North East London is looking to appoint a

French Language Assistant to support students across Key Stages 3 and 4.

This is an excellent opportunity for somebody who is passionate about languages and wants to gain valuable experience working in a secondary school setting.

• Working with small groups of students to improve their spoken and written French
• Providing targeted support to GCSE students ahead of examinations
• Building students' confidence with speaking, pronunciation and conversational French
• Supporting teachers within a successful and well-established MFL department
• Helping students make strong academic progress and develop a love of languages
• 18 hours per week, term time only
• September 2026 start

• A French graduate considering a career in teaching
• A Teaching Assistant looking to progress into teacher training
• An aspiring teacher seeking valuable classroom experience
• Someone with previous experience working in a secondary school environment

• Have strong French language skills
• Have experience working with secondary-aged students, or a clear interest in pursuing a teaching career
• Be confident, organised and able to build positive relationships with young people
• Have a genuine passion for education and supporting student achievement
