About the Role:
This is an exciting opportunity to launch your career in youth work and social impact. You'll be part of a new and growing programme supporting adolescent boys and young men (aged 1319), helping to create spaces where they can explore the challenges and opportunities of growing up, build confidence, and develop positive futures. You won't just be delivering a programme you'll help shape it.
As the work grows, new projects are being developed around media, podcasting, and peer engagement, and your ideas and energy will genuinely matter. If you're creative, adaptable, and care about young people, this role will give you real responsibility from day one. What You'll Be Doing:
Supporting and coordinating volunteer mentors to deliver a structured mentoring programme for marginalised young men, gaining hands-on experience in volunteer management Working directly with young people aged 1319, providing mentoring, guidance, and personal development support Helping young people get involved in creative co-produced projects including podcasts and media work and group-based activities Delivering outreach sessions in schools, colleges, and youth settings, including workshops and PSHE sessions Building relationships with schools, community organisations, and local services, and learning how multi-agency referral works in practice Contributing to monitoring and evaluation, and developing your skills in impact reporting and KPI tracking Supporting safeguarding processes and developing your knowledge of legislation and best practice Playing an active role in developing new strands of the programme alongside the wider team
What We're Looking For:
We're not expecting a long CV. We're looking for the right person. You might be a recent graduate, someone moving from volunteering into paid work, or someone who has lived experience that gives you genuine insight into the young people we serve. You'll need:
Some experience of working or volunteering with young people, particularly adolescent boys this could be in schools, sports, youth clubs, or community settings Genuine empathy and a belief in the importance of this work Confidence using social media, and ideally some experience of creating content Good communication skills in writing, in person, and in front of a group The ability to work on your own initiative, while being open to guidance and support An understanding of, or willingness to learn about, relationship-based practice and safeguarding What You'll Gain: A substantive, varied role in a developing programme where your contribution will be visible Hands-on experience across mentoring, outreach, volunteer coordination, and programme development Supervision, support, and opportunities to grow your professional skills A chance to shape new projects and co-produce work directly with young people
