Pay Rate: £105-£120 per day (depending on experience)

Contract: Long-term, Full-time
Working Hours: 8.30 AM-3.30 PM

Do you have experience supporting children with additional needs and a passion for helping pupils thrive in a primary school environment?

GSL Education are proud to partner with welcoming and inclusive schools in Tower Hamlets to appoint a dedicated Special Education Needs Teaching Assistant (SEN TA) to provide tailored support for pupils with complex additional needs.

This role is well suited to a compassionate and resilient individual who can provide consistent one-to-one support for children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), including pupils with high levels of need. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting learning, communication, emotional regulation, and daily classroom engagement within a primary setting.

Main Responsibilities
  • Provide dedicated one-to-one support for pupils with SEN, including ASD and complex learning needs.
  • Support pupils in accessing classroom activities and following structured routines.
  • Use positive behaviour strategies to encourage engagement and emotional regulation.
  • Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement personalised support plans.
  • Build strong and supportive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents/carers.
  • Help create a safe, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment.
Requirements
  • Experience supporting children with ASD and very high additional needs.
  • Recent experience working within a primary school setting.
  • Proven ability to provide effective one-to-one SEN support.
  • Strong communication, patience, and behaviour management skills.
  • A calm, caring, and adaptable approach when supporting pupils.
  • A strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
