Learning Support Assistant – Autism Support | Havering RM11 |
Are you passionate about supporting young people and helping them overcome barriers to learning?
We are currently recruiting for a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to provide 1:1 support to a student with SEN within a welcoming mainstream school in Havering (RM11).
This is a rewarding opportunity to support a young person aged 16–19, helping them develop academically, socially, and emotionally while building confidence and independence in a school environment.
The Role:
* Full-time position
* Monday to Friday
* Working hours:
8:45am – 4:00pm
* Location:
Havering, RM11
* Pay: £14.25 per hour
You will work closely with the student, teaching staff, and wider support team to provide tailored support that meets their individual needs.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide dedicated 1:1 support to a student with Autism
* Support learning activities and help the student engage in classroom sessions
* Assist with personalised learning plans and encourage progress
* Support emotional wellbeing and social interaction
* Work alongside staff to monitor progress and development
* Provide personal care support where required
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
* Experience supporting children or young people with Autism, SEND, or additional needs (desirable)
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills
* A patient, compassionate, and proactive approach
* The ability to build positive relationships with students
* A genuine passion for helping young people achieve their goals
