Reading Teaching Assistant | Waltham Forest | September 2026 Start

A welcoming and high-achieving primary school in Waltham Forest is seeking a Reading Teaching Assistant from September 2026 on a full‑time basis until the end of the academic year in July 2027, with strong potential for extension. This role is ideal for a graduate with strong child‑centred experience looking to support KS1–KS2 pupils through targeted literacy, reading and writing interventions within a highly supportive school environment.

The school has built a strong reputation for literacy and inclusion, with Reading outcomes consistently above national averages across KS1 and KS2. Leaders place significant emphasis on vocabulary development, phonics and reading fluency through carefully planned intervention programmes and structured classroom support. SEND provision is also a major strength, with specialist staff and tailored strategies helping pupils access the curriculum successfully.

£444–£513 weekly via PAYE (inclusive of holiday pay).

  • Hold a strong degree from a leading UK university / graduating this summer
  • Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Possess strong child‑centred experience working with young people
  • Demonstrate patience, initiative and enthusiasm for education
