Job Summary

Pathways School is a specialist Social, Emotional and Mental Health school for Years 1‑11. We are looking to appoint an inspirational KS2 Class Teacher for September 2026 or sooner. The role demands a motivational role model who supports pupils’ academic progress and their social, emotional understanding.

Responsibilities
  • Plan and teach well‑structured lessons to assigned classes following the school’s plans, curriculum and scheme of work.
  • Assess, monitor, record and report on the learning needs, progress and achievements of assigned pupils, using assessment data to inform instruction.
  • Adapt teaching to respond to the strengths and needs of pupils.
  • Set high expectations that inspire, motivate and challenge pupils.
  • Promote good progress and outcomes for pupils.
  • Demonstrate good subject and curriculum knowledge.
  • Participate in arrangements for preparing pupils for internal and external tests.
  • Value and display children’s work.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Qualified teacher with teaching experience at KS2 level.
  • Ability to work with a range of children and young people with additional and complex needs.
  • Strong team‑working skills and ability to build good working relationships with colleagues.
  • Flexibility, enthusiasm, resilience and a good sense of humour.
  • Commitment to ongoing personal development.
  • High aspirations in teaching and learning for all children and young people.
