SEMH Teaching Assistant

SEMH Teaching Assistant – Full‑time, long‑term temporary position starting January 2026. This is an excellent opportunity for a dedicated SEMH Teaching Assistant to join a school that provides a supportive and inclusive environment. • Provide one‑to‑one and small group support for pupils with SEMH needs
• Assist the class teacher in delivering tailored learning activities
• Help maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment
• Support pupils' social and emotional development through mentoring and guidance
• Implement behaviour management strategies effectively
• Ensure safeguarding and welfare standards are upheld at all times

• Previous experience supporting pupils with SEMH needs is essential
• Strong understanding of strategies for managing challenging behaviour
• Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff
• Excellent communication and organisational skills
• A proactive and flexible approach to supporting learning
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children

Salary – dependent on experience – is paid weekly through PAYE. All candidates are subject to safeguarding checks in line with the DfE's statutory guidance.
